If you already have patches and need them professionally attached, Clever Orchid can help. We sew patches onto jackets, vests, uniforms, bags, and other items with careful placement and durable stitching on our commercial machines.
How patch attachment works
During your appointment, Shirly will position each patch on the garment and pin it in place so you can see exactly where it will sit. Nothing is stitched until you approve the layout. This step is especially important for varsity jackets, motorcycle vests, and Scout uniforms where precise placement matters.
Common patch attachment projects
We regularly attach patches for Scout troops (merit badges, rank patches, council strips), motorcycle and riding clubs (back patches, rockers, side patches on leather vests), varsity and letterman jackets (chenille letters, sport patches, year bars, award patches), military and veteran organizations, and law enforcement and fire departments.
Leather, denim, wool, and more
Different fabrics require different approaches. Leather vests need heavier needles and adjusted tension. Wool varsity jackets need care to avoid puckering around chenille letters. Denim and canvas are straightforward but benefit from proper stabilization. Our commercial machines handle all of these materials, and Shirly will match thread color and stitch pattern to the garment.
Building a jacket over time
Many customers — especially students with varsity jackets and riders with club vests — build their garment over multiple visits. We keep notes on thread colors, fonts, and placement from previous sessions so returning customers get consistent results across years. The jacket or vest grows with you.
