Public Safety & Government

Firefighter, Public Safety & Government Embroidery in Columbia, SC

Embroidery for firefighters, sheriff's deputies, the SC National Guard, Air Force, federal agencies, city and county councils, and other public-service teams across the Midlands — handled with care and discretion.

Trusted by public-service teams across the Midlands

Firefighters are one of our largest groups, but we also stitch for sheriff's offices, the SC National Guard, Air Force, federal agencies, city and county councils, councilmembers, and other government and public-service teams.

Discreet, appointment-only handling

Uniforms and department-branded items are handled in a secure, appointment-only studio. Items are checked in carefully, details are confirmed before stitching, and your work is treated with the discretion the role deserves.

Built for the work, built to last

Station wear, duty shirts, jackets, and outerwear get washed often and worn hard. We use thread and stitching techniques that hold up to the reality of the job.

Consistent across the whole team

Once your department's logo, fonts, ranks, and placement are dialed in, we keep them on file so reorders and new hires look identical to the originals — no drift between batches.

What we embroider

  • Firefighter station wear and duty shirts
  • Law enforcement and sheriff's office uniforms
  • SC National Guard and military apparel
  • Air Force and other federal-agency apparel
  • City and county council member apparel
  • Department and unit logos on polos, jackets, hats
  • Names, ranks, and unit identifiers
  • Support apparel for families, boosters, and auxiliaries

  • Public-service event and ceremonial apparel

How an appointment works

  1. 1

    Reach out privately

Call, text, or email with a description of your department or unit, the apparel you'd like embroidered, and any approval or compliance requirements. We'll set up a time to meet.

  2. 2

    In-person consult

Bring your garments and any approved logos, patches, or specifications. Shirly will confirm placement, font, thread colors, and any unit standards before stitching anything.

  3. 3

    Stitched and on file

Your order is stitched on commercial machines in our Devine Street studio. We file your specs so reorders, new hires, and event apparel can be added without rebuilding the setup.

Pricing & turnaround

Public-service embroidery pricing depends on stitch count, the number of garments, and any digitizing required for department logos. Recurring department and unit orders earn better per-piece pricing because the digitizing setup is a one-time charge. We always quote in writing before stitching.

Firefighters need apparel that works as hard as they do. Clever Orchid provides embroidery for firefighter station wear, outerwear, and department-branded garments, helping crews look cohesive while honoring their role in the community.

Apparel that supports your station identity

Shirly can embroider department names, station numbers, and logos on polos, sweatshirts, jackets, and hats. Many stations also create supportive apparel for family members and community fundraisers.

Common firefighter embroidery projects

  • Station wear shirts and pullovers
  • Outerwear for cool or wet weather
  • Hats and beanies with station identifiers
  • Fundraiser or commemorative apparel

Built for repeated wear

The garments firefighters wear see frequent washing and heavy use. Embroidery is digitized and stitched with appropriate densities and thread to handle repeated laundering while still looking sharp.

Departments that would like to standardize their embroidery across multiple stations or crews can work with Shirly to define colors, placements, and logo versions that will be used consistently going forward.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only work with firefighters?

No — firefighters are one of our largest public-service groups, but we also work with law enforcement (sheriff's offices and police), the SC National Guard, Air Force, federal agencies, city and county councils, councilmembers, and many other government and public-service teams across the Midlands.

Can you handle department-approved insignia and patches?

Yes. We work with department-approved logos, ranks, name tapes, and patches. Bring your specifications and any approved artwork to your appointment and we'll confirm placement and execution before stitching.

Is the work handled discreetly?

Yes. The studio is appointment-only, items are checked in and stored carefully, and details are confirmed before stitching begins. We treat public-service apparel with the discretion the role deserves.

Can you do recurring orders for our department or unit?

Absolutely. Once your logo, fonts, ranks, and placement are on file, recurring orders, new hires, and event apparel are quick to turn around with consistent results across every batch.

Do you do family, support, or auxiliary apparel?

Yes — we stitch a lot of support apparel for families, boosters, and auxiliary groups, including department logos and "family of" or "in support of" designs. These are great for events, ceremonies, and fundraisers.

How long does a public-service order take?

Most orders take 1–2 weeks once the design and team list are finalized. New accounts may add a few days for digitizing department logos. Rush options are sometimes available — share your event or ceremony date.
