Hotronix professional heat presses

Every order is produced on Hotronix commercial-grade heat presses — the industry standard for clean, durable transfers. The result is sharper detail, more vibrant color, and longer wear life than traditional screen printing.

Multi-placement designs

Front logo, back design, sleeve print, hat logo — we handle multi-placement jobs with consistent alignment and color across every piece. Recent projects include 40+ t-shirts with three design locations each.

Quantity orders, not one-offs

Heat press setup and pricing are built for batch orders: 12+ t-shirts for a team, 25 polos for a business, 50 koozies for a wedding. Per-piece pricing improves with volume. Single-item requests are better served by our embroidery services.

We source the blanks, too

Let us handle the garments and the printing in one turnkey order. We source t-shirts, polos, hats, and koozies from quality wholesale suppliers — better per-piece pricing than retail, and one less thing for you to coordinate.

How an appointment works

  1. 1

Share your design and order details

Send us your artwork or design idea, the item type (t-shirts, hats, koozies, etc.), the number of pieces, and how many print locations you need (front only, front + back, sleeves, etc.). We'll put together pricing and a timeline.

  2. 2

Approve the proof and source the blanks

We'll send a digital proof showing your design on the garment. Once approved, we source blank apparel from our wholesale partners — or you can supply your own. Sourcing through us usually saves money and time.

  3. 3

    Heat press and quality check

Each piece is pressed individually on a Hotronix commercial heat press in our Devine Street studio. Multi-placement jobs go through alignment checks at every station. You pick up the finished order or we arrange delivery for larger batches.

Pricing & turnaround

Pricing is per piece and depends on the blank garment, the number of print locations (front, back, sleeves, etc.), design complexity, and total quantity. Larger orders earn better per-piece pricing. Most batch orders take 2–4 weeks from approved proof to pickup. Rush orders may be available depending on the studio schedule — ask when you reach out.

Clever Orchid offers professional heat press transfer printing at our Devine Street studio in Columbia, SC — a higher-quality alternative to traditional screen printing for the batch sizes that local teams, businesses, and organizations actually need.

Why heat press instead of screen printing?

Most Columbia, SC businesses, teams, and event organizers need 12–100 custom-printed items — not the 500+ run sizes where screen printing's per-unit economics kick in. At these real-world quantities, heat press transfers on a Hotronix commercial press deliver sharper detail, more vibrant full-color output, and better wash durability than screen printing, often at comparable or lower cost per piece.

Multi-placement, full-color capability

Need a front logo, a full back design, and a sleeve print on every shirt? Heat press handles multi-placement jobs with consistent alignment and color fidelity across the entire run. Recent projects include 40-piece t-shirt orders with designs in three locations, and custom firefighter battalion shirts with department-designed graphics — all produced in-house on Devine Street.

Turnkey orders: blanks + printing in one stop

We source t-shirts, polos, hats, koozies, and other blank apparel from quality wholesale suppliers — so you get one order, one point of contact, and better per-piece pricing than buying retail and bringing garments in separately. Bring your own blanks if you prefer; we press either way.

Who uses this service

Youth sports teams ordering season jerseys. Local fire departments printing custom battalion shirts. Businesses branding polos for a golf tournament. Brides ordering koozies for the wedding. Churches, nonprofits, and school groups printing event shirts. If you need a batch of matching, custom-printed items in the Columbia, SC area, this is the service.

Don't have t-shirts, polos, hats, koozies, and other blank apparel yet? We can source them.

Clever Orchid holds a South Carolina retail license and works with wholesale apparel suppliers, so we can source t-shirts, polos, hats, koozies, and other blank apparelfor your order alongside the embroidery — one invoice, one pickup, one point of contact. Sourcing works best for small-batch and team orders; for a single one-off item we'll usually point you toward the best direct-to-consumer option instead so shipping doesn't outweigh the savings. Tell us what you need and we'll quote sourcing + embroidery together.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between heat press and screen printing?

Heat press transfers use a commercial-grade Hotronix press to apply pre-printed designs with precise heat and pressure. The result is sharper detail, more vibrant color, and better durability than traditional screen printing — especially for photographic images, gradients, and multi-color designs. Screen printing can be more economical for very large single-color runs (500+), but for the batch sizes most Columbia businesses and teams need (12–100 pieces), heat press delivers better quality at comparable or lower cost.

What's the minimum order size?

Heat press setup and pricing work best for orders of 12 or more pieces. Smaller batches (6–11) are sometimes possible but the per-piece cost is higher. For single items, our embroidery services are usually a better fit.

Can you print on items I supply?

Yes — bring your own t-shirts, polos, hats, or koozies and we'll press your design onto them. That said, letting us source the blanks through our wholesale suppliers typically saves you money per piece and ensures the fabric takes the transfer well.

How many colors and print locations can you do?

Full-color designs with no color limits — including photographic images, gradients, and complex logos. We handle up to four print locations per garment (front, back, left sleeve, right sleeve) with consistent alignment across the run.

Do you do custom koozies and hats?

Yes. We print koozies for weddings, golf tournaments, bachelorette parties, and business promotions, and hats with team or business logos. Same Hotronix press, same quality, same minimum order guidance.

How long does a heat press order take?

Most orders take 2–4 weeks from approved proof and sourced blanks to finished product. Timeline depends on order size, number of print locations, and whether we're sourcing the garments. Plan ahead for events and season starts.

Can you do heat press AND embroidery on the same order?

Absolutely. Many team and business orders combine heat-pressed names and numbers with embroidered logos — you get the best of both techniques. We handle both in-house at our Devine Street studio.
