Embroidery Designs & Fonts in Columbia, SC

Browse a wide library of embroidery designs, monogram styles, and fonts in person — mix, match, and customize them to make your project feel personal without starting from scratch.

A library you can actually browse

See real samples, real fonts, and real motifs in person at your appointment instead of squinting at thumbnail previews on a website.

Customize colors, sizes, and text

Library designs aren't fixed — change thread colors, scale, layout, and lettering to match your project's mood and the room or person it's for.

More affordable than full custom

Library designs skip much of the digitizing setup, which keeps the project cost lower while still feeling tailored and special.

Mix library + custom elements

Pair a library motif with your own custom text or monogram, or combine multiple library elements into something unique to you.

How an appointment works

  1. 1

Tell us what you have in mind

Share the item you're personalizing, the occasion or recipient, and the general style you're after — modern, classic, playful, ornate. We'll set up a time to meet.

  2. 2

    Browse the library together

Shirly will show you fonts and designs that fit your project and walk through how thread colors, sizes, and placement will look on the actual fabric.

  3. 3

    Customize and stitch

Lock in your final font, motif, colors, and layout. Your project is hooped and stitched in our Devine Street studio, then ready for pickup.

Pricing & turnaround

Library design pricing depends on stitch count, size, and the item being embroidered, but is generally lower than full custom digitizing because much of the setup work is already done. We always quote before stitching.

Not every project needs a completely custom artwork file. Sometimes the perfect design is already sitting in the library. Clever Orchid maintains a wide range of embroidery designs, monogram styles, and decorative elements that can be customized with your colors and text. During your appointment, Shirly can show you options that fit the mood and purpose of your project: elegant frames for monograms, playful motifs for children, classic wreaths and flourishes, seasonal designs for holidays, and more. You can mix and match elements, adjust sizes, and change thread colors to make the design uniquely yours. Designs from our library are an excellent choice for baby blankets, towels, pillows, graduation stoles, and many types of gifts. They often require less setup time than fully custom artwork, which can keep your project more affordable while still feeling tailored and special. If you see inspiration on our Instagram, Google Photos, or in-store samples, we can often recreate a similar look with the designs we already have on hand. You do not have to arrive knowing exactly what you want; part of the appointment is exploring what is possible together.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of designs are in your library?

Monogram frames, floral and botanical motifs, wreaths, seasonal designs, playful children's motifs, sports themes, wedding flourishes, pet and animal designs, faith-based imagery, and many more. We add to the library regularly.

Can I change the colors of a library design?

Yes — library designs aren't locked. You can change thread colors, adjust sizes, swap fonts, and modify lettering so the final piece feels uniquely yours.

Are library designs cheaper than fully custom embroidery?

Usually, yes. Because much of the digitizing setup work is already done, library designs skip a step that custom artwork requires. The savings vary by project — we'll quote both options if you're not sure which to pick.

Can I mix library elements with my own text?

Absolutely. A common request is a library frame or motif paired with your own monogram, name, or short phrase. Shirly will help you arrange the elements so they feel balanced.

What if I see something on Instagram or Pinterest I like?

Bring it in or send it ahead of your appointment. We can often recreate a similar look with designs we already have on hand, or recommend a custom approach if it's truly one-of-a-kind.

Do you have fonts I can preview online?

Yes — visit /fonts/preview to try several of our embroidery fonts with your own text. The full font and design library is much larger and is best browsed in person at your appointment.
