What to know about cap embroidery
Cap embroidery uses a cylindrical hoop that holds the front panel taut while the machine stitches. Most caps have room for a design up to about 2.25 inches tall by 4 inches wide on the front panel. Side and back embroidery is available on many styles. Puff embroidery — where foam is placed under the stitches to create a raised 3-D effect — works best on structured caps with bold, simple lettering.

- Can you embroider on any hat or cap?
- Most structured and semi-structured caps embroider well. Unstructured (floppy) caps can be embroidered but may need stabilizer backing. We'll let you know if a specific style has limitations when you bring it in.
- What is puff embroidery and which caps support it?
- Puff embroidery places foam under the stitches to create a raised, 3-D look. It works best on structured caps with bold, simple text or logos — fine detail and small lettering don't hold up in puff. Most Richardson and New Era structured caps are great candidates.
- How many caps is the minimum order?
- There's no minimum. We embroider single caps for individuals and batches of hundreds for teams and companies. Per-cap cost drops on larger orders because digitizing is a one-time setup.
